This is my dear Halie and her belly photo at 36 weeks. Today she has a doctor appointment where they will check her out to see if she has dilated. She and her fiance will also get to tour the hospital facilities and see the environment in which she will be giving birth. I am so excited!! It has been decided that of all the kabillion people that want to visit with her while she is in labor, when it comes down to the actual birth, only her fiance and myself will be allowed to stay in the room. I am so happy she is allowing me the ability to take part in this miracle....
Every single piece of baby furniture has been purchased, they have enough diapers and wipes to last at least a couple of months, and we even have a stock of formula, just in case the breast feeding doesn't go as planned. And the clothes - oh my gosh the clothes!! This kid will not need new clothes for a while to say the least! The only thing left to really purchase is a back pack for daddy to carry the baby around in when they go places. We have looked at this ergo baby carrier, and it seems to fit the bill. It's not all girly like the sling, and I think it would take a while for the baby to outgrow as well. Other than this, all the essentials are ready and waiting!! (I totally have a highchair stashed in my garage.....) Of course that kind of stuff won't be needed for a little while!
I am really amazed at the fact that so many people have gathered around my girl to show their support. It just shows how much she is loved, how much this baby is loved, and that she truly does have a village to help her on her journey down motherhood lane. At any time, if she needs any help, there will always be someone for her to go to. I think it mostly comes down to someone to talk to, no matter what time of day or night. I know I will always be there. I just can't wait to start this chapter of my own life!! A gramma!! It's soooo on it's way!!!
