I can't believe it is already the second week in May!! This week has been so incredibly busy, that I haven't had much time to do anything else but work. If it hasn't been at my work work, it's been work around the house and in the garden. Then of course we are also still waiting on this baby!!
The kids only have about 2 1/2 weeks of school left, and I am so ready for that to be over. Kind of. Now it's rush time though, with all the field trips and fun days and such, and it sucks because I won't be able to attend much of it with them. Gotta work.
The garden is finally almost finished, with only a few things left to plant. I had finally gotten my zucchini in, but we have had a sudden heat wave, and they didn't like it very much. I am thinking I may have to resort to using seed. It's been in the 90's here already, and of course no rain to help things along either. It's hard to win - no rain, lots of heat and wind, or too much rain and lots of heat and wind, or just too cold and lots of wind. Ughh!! One way or the other, I will get me some garden veggies though! I actually do have 4 beautiful broccoli crowns that are doing marvelously!!
Halie is miserable and still waiting for this baby to arrive. She's been having some contractions that have been pretty painful, and even fairly close together, but they just don't seem to want to keep going. It doesn't look like there is a whole lot of room left for that little one to be living in, in there, but I suppose things will happen when they happen! It's just so hard to wait. While we are waiting however, it would be nice to be able to watch TV. You can't do that anymore unless you buy cable, and the kids can't afford it. I've been looking into the antennas for digital tv that you have to have now just to be able to get a few measly channels. She wasn't out on her own when the whole conversion to digital happened, so we never thought about it before. I couldn't afford Cable at her age either, but at least I could get public TV channels for free!
Mother's Day yesterday was pretty nice. The kids made me cards, and Halie came over for supper, as did my own Mommy. We had wanted to BBQ, but the wind was just too strong to try lighting the grill. No sense in burning down the house just to grill some ribs!
I hope everyone has a great week. I will be back at work, and waiting for my phone to ring telling me it's time to go!
Come on Izzy!! The world is waiting to meet you!!!
Happy Monday!
