Ok, we can be done with this heat now. It's not just regular hot - it's steaming hot. My car said 118 when I left work yesterday. It went down to 111 by the time I got home. I'm guessing it was close to the right temp on the lower end, but holy cow it felt like I was standing inside a hot blowdryer!! I know as soon as I did get home, off went the work clothes and on went the shorts and tank top! Unfortunately, the heat is supposed to be this bad all the way through the weekend. Of course I get a 3 day weekend, and going to the lake is just out of the question. Too hot to be sleeping in a tent!! Or fishing. Or anything else really. I will stay home and run back and forth to the BBQ grill and call it good! We will probably only grab a handful of fireworks this year too. I only get paid every two weeks, and this week is not one of them. It's been so dry here though that I really don't think it's all that safe to be shooting them off anyways. I have to wonder how many house fires we will see when the season opens. That said, I hope everyone has a safe and happy July 4th!!
